In the Comilla Cantonment area, this four-page mura can be seen. The location of this four-figure mura on the top of a small flat hill, about 2 kilometers away from Kutila Mura. This mura has an entrance gate on the east side. The existence of a Buddhist temple has been found here. This temple, rectangular, is about 30 meters in length and 12 meters wide. In addition to this temple there was a hall. There were four pillars in this hall room. This mura is known as Charpatra Mura, because 4 copperplates have been recovered from the mura temple room. ...... read full story

Kautilya Mura / Kutila Mura / Tritantana Buddhist Vihara

Kautilya Mura can see the area adjacent to the Comilla cantonment about 3 miles north of Shalvan Bihar. Mura is also known as Kutila Mura. The structure and construction of this mura differ from other parts. Due to the opening of the mud, 3 stumps are exposed. These three stupas represent three symbols of Buddhism. Due to these 3 stupas, Mura is also known as Trishna Buddhist Vihara. There are three symbols - Buddha or knowledge, religion or justice and association or discipline. This type of monastery is one in the subcontinent. A rounded small room was built in the center of the central plinth of Mura. There were 8 more rooms around this central room. These rooms were built by brick walls. Terracotta and clay made stools, seals and stone sculptures were found in the rooms. It is believed that this site may be from 7th century AD or even earlier. Ananda Vihara locally known as Ananda Raja's house. Among the Lalmai-Mainamati monasteries discovered in Comilla, this Ananda Vihara is big in size. And this is the second largest Vihara among Vihara discovered in Bangladesh. The monastery is built in a square. A central temple was built in the middle of Vihara. Several temples were built to live in the monastery of Vihara on this temple. Sri Anand Dev, the third king of Dev's family, built this temple at the end of the seventh century or early 8th century. Bhoj Vihara / House of Bhoj Raja

You can see this temple in Comilla cantonment area. The monastery is known by the locals as the house of the king of Bhoj. This monastery is adjacent to Ananda Bihar. The monastery is built in a square. Its side length is about 190 meters. A total of 122 rooms were found inside the monastery, in which Buddhist monks lived. A Buddhist temple structure was found in the middle of the excavation of the monastery. Due to the digging of this site, archaeological finds of thunderstroke Buddhist statues, post-Buddhist monuments, silver coins etc. were found. You can see this murha in a village called Baradharmpur in Lalmai area. There are two temples of Hindu religion. The location of Lalmai and Mainamati hills, about 8 kilometers away from Comilla city. It is near the Comilla Cantonment area. Shalvan Vihara / Sri Bhavdev Mahavihara

The location of this Vihara lies in the middle of the Lalmai hills, about six kilometers away from Comilla city. The Vihara is built almost square. Whose each arm is about 550 feet long. There were about 115 rooms for Buddhist monks in Vihara. These rooms, which were built for monks, were built in a square. For the monks, each of these rooms had a length of about 3.66 meters. The walls between the two rooms were about 1.5 meters wide. The name of the Shalvan vihara is called Shribhavdev Mahavihar. The vihara is known as Shalvan Vihara because of its large number of shal trees in the area. The arch monuments received from the vihara are estimated to be between 7th to 12th centuries. The existence of a central temple has been discovered in this Vihara. There is only one gateway on the north side of Vihara. Two rooms on both sides of this entrance are found. This room is thought to be used as two guard rooms. Among the important structures of the monastery, the cruciarcha temple is very interesting and beautiful. The temple is a remarkable marvelous monument in the Buddhist architecture of the eighth century AD. The basement wall of the temple is terracotta rich. In these terracotta, the views of the folk art of Bengal were well-illustrated.The monastery was found in the 6th century era. Of these, the existence of 4 construction era has been clearly evident. Apart from temples and monks, there is also the existence of stack, banquet, cooking room etc. in Vihara. Several copperplates, gold and silver coins, numerous terracotta plaques, terracotta seals, stones and bronze statues were found from this site. A hill called Palace hill of Queen Mainamati (Rani Mainamati Prasad Hill) on the north side of Lalmai-Mainamati hills. The mountain is about 15 meters high.
