Betuli Banyan Tree

An ancient banyan tree of 17th century will see Shitalola of Bethuli village of Maliate Union of Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah district. But not for the antiquity of the banyan tree, it is famous for its magnificence. The banyan spread over 11 acres (2.33 hectares) of land. It is known as the largest banyan in the continent of Asia. To the locals, this tree is also known as Mallikpur Batgacha or Shumtala Botgach. For the vastness of size it is known to many as Vishobot.
