One of the important places during the great liberation war of Bangladesh is the Kalurghat Radio Transmission Center in Chittagong. From here on 27 March 1971 Major Ziaur Rahman read out the declaration of independence of Bangladesh. Shahid Zia Memorial Complex has been built around this Kalurghat radio station to keep the important place of Bangladesh in mind and to present it to the new generation. On August 29, 2006, Begum Khaleda Zia inaugurated the complex. There is a observation tower. From this tower, you can see the entire complex. Not only the complex, this tower can also be seen in Chittagong city. There is an interesting restaurant named Freedom Tower. This tower has been constructed 71 meters high in memory of the great war of 71 (1971). Built in 52 meter diameter, in memory of language movement of 52 (1952). You can see a well known as Mathin's well in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district. Distance from Cox's Bazar to Teknaf upazila is about 80 kilometers. Mathin's well is a silent witness of the love of the daughter of , the daughter of Teknaf, Rakhine Zamindhana and the love of the police SI Dhiraj Bhattacharj. The well is located in the Teknaf upazila thana. Mathin daily came to take water from the well located in front of the police station, and at that time, gradually got involved with SI Dhirej of the police station. At one time their relationship will get married. Zamindar thinks of the happiness of his daughter's daughter and gives a similar opinion in marriage. But the police officers went to Calcutta after taking leave from their families before considering marriage and aristocracy.
